Coopérnico is Portugal's first renewable energy cooperative. This is their 8th project to be launched, which will bring te cooperative to over 300k€ investment by some of their nearly 500 members. Coopérnico works in close collaboration on with the Portuguese social economy by using their roofs to produce clean electricity. This project with Fundação Irene Rolo, a charity in the Algarve Region (South of Portugal), in Tavira - one of Europe's sunniet cities - is another good example of cooperation for sustainability.

Coopérnico is a Portuguese renewable energy cooperative, the first in Portugal, that combines its sustainability oriented and social nature with the support of solidarity, education and environmental protection projects. First created as a collective sustainable energy investment in 2013, Coopernico is already in the process of becoming Portugal's first green electricity provider. And it's all powered by the people, in a fully democratic manner!
